'Kandahar' an action film, on the infamous Air India flight hijack in 1999, stars Mohanlal, Amitabh Bachchan, Ganesh Venkatraman, Suneil Shetty and Ragini Dwivedi in important roles. The film is a trilingual, made in Malayalam, Tamil and Hindi simultaneously. Major Ravi is the director.
Mohanlal plays Major Mahadevan, the man in charge of the commando operation to rescue the passengers in the hijacked flight. Ganesh plays his deputy and Bachchan, his father.
