Ayesha Takia in Revathy Varma's next!


She has been finalsed as the female lead in 'Hamesha I will love you'.
The beautiful actress will be playing in the lead opposite Anant Narayan in 'Hamesha I will love you'. The film promises to be a love story, as the title indicates. The director herself has penned the script and she says that only Ayesha could fit the role perfectly. Revathy had directed Ayesha in 'Aap Ke Liye Hum'.

'Raavanan' overtakes Mohanlal, Mammootty!


In sync with a trend in Kerala for the past couple of years, Mani Ratnam's 'Raavanan' has become a resounding success.
Vijay films such as 'Vettaikaran' and 'Sura' did great business in Kerala while they flopped in Tamil Nadu.

The mega budget film, captured by Santosh Sivan, has taken a bigger opening than any recent Mohanlal or Mammootty flick.

Asin, Salman in Sri Lanka for 'Ready'


Asin has gone to Sri Lanka to shoot for 'Ready', a Salman Khan starrer directed by Anees Bazmee.Though she was warned by friends and foes alike even to back out from the film as it stars Salman, a foe" of the south Indian film fraternity, she stood firm on her commitment. Salman has invoked the wrath of the south Indian film industry people by openly supporting the Indian International Film Awards 2010 recently concluded in Colombo.

'Oru Naal Varum' release postponed


The release of 'Oru Naal Varum', the most eagerly awaited Malayalam film of the year, has been postponed
The Mohanlal-Sreenivasan film, directed by TK Rajeev Kumar, was expected to hit cinemas this Friday. The postponement was caused by the impasse in Mollywood created by the differences between the Film Exhibitors' Federation and the producers and distributors.

Mollywood comes to a standstill


As the Film Exhibitors' Federation, an organisation of some of the finest theatres in the state, refused to budge, the Producer's Association and the Distributors' Association have decided not to release any movies
The Federation had screened other language films such as 'Sura' and 'Raavan' on the same day of its global release and this had angered the producers and exhibitors.

Heartstopping dive in 'Raavan': Who did it?


One of the most fascinating scenes in Mani Ratnam's 'Raavan' is the forward dive from a 90-feet high cliff seen enacted by Abhishek Bachchan/Vikram.
Well, the heart-stopping dive was performed by his body double. MS Balram, a Bangalore-based former national champion in diving had done the spectacular dive.

No sequel to 'Rajamanickyam': Anwar Rasheed


In a season when sequels are being planned for even substandard films, Anwar Rashid has put his foot down and has made it clear that as of now, he has no plans to make a sequel to his 'Raja Manikyam'.
Also, he was not interested in a sequel to this film.It was rumoured that Anwar and writer TA Shahid were planning the part 2 of the iconic comedy, which starred Mammootty in a very different role, and that it would be titled 'Minister Manikyam'

Akshay, Hrithik for the big battle on Nov. 19!


The next big battle for Bollywood supremacy will begin on November 19, when Hrithik Roshan's '‘Guzaarish’ and Akshay Kumar starrer ‘Patiala House’ will be released on the same day.
Hrithik, who has suffered a heavy defeat as his much hyped 'Kites' bit the dust at the B.O., banks heavily on the prospects of this Sanjay Leela Bhansali film. In it, he plays a paraplegic bound to the wheel chair and Aishwarya Rai pairs up with him in the lead.

Mohanlal, Dileep in 'Christian Brothers'


The much awaited multi-starrer of the year, directed by veteran Joshiy, is gearing up for a release. 'Christian Brothers' features Mohanlal, Suresh Gopi, Sarath Kumar and Dileep in important roles.
The film is about former soldier Palomattathu Varghese Mappila (Saikumar) and his sons, Christy (Mohanlal) and Joby (Dileep). Christy is a police informer in Mumbai and Joby is studying theology abroad.
Sibi and Udayakrishna pen the script; Deepak Dev scores the music. Other actors in the cast include Lakshmi Rai, Kavya Madhavan and Kaniha. Anil Nair is the cameraman.

Vikram sure of Best Actor award for 'Raavanan'!


Vikram, one of the most modest superstars ever in south India, says he is sure to bag a national award for his efforts in 'Raavanan'.
The film is all set for a global release on June 28.

The trilingual, directed by Mani Ratnam, has Vikram doing two diametrically opposite characters in the different versions of the same film. In the Tamil version, he plays village toughie while in the Hindi version, he essays the role of a suave police officer.

'Smiling Beauty' Sneha seems to have reached the end of her tether.
Last week, a Tamil magazine published a report saying that Sneha was pregnant; they even named the "culprits" behind it. The demure actress, who normally keeps a low profile, was upset and angry with this rumour. She said, if such wild rumours continue, she would surely take the legal route.

In an interview published in 'Kumudham', she said that if she had acted well in a film, they devote just a single line and if a rumour surfaces, they use reams of paper on it.

'Kites', one of the most awaited and hyped Bollywood film this tear, has failed at the B.O.

Though the Hrithik Roshan film was received well by the critics, the public did not take too kindly to the liberal spinkling of Spanish and English in the Anurag Basu movie.
Well, the film will be telecast in India, the US and Britain on June 27 by Colors channel. The rights of the world TV premiere has been sold to this channel. So, the film will be telecast on TV just 36 days after its theatre release!

Suriya-Jo blessed with a son!


Suriya and Jyothika are having some their best moments ever as the latter has delivered a bonny boy in the early hours of June 7.
This is their second child; Diya is their first one.

Suriya is having the best time of his career. He has been delivering hits nonstop for the last two years, starting with Gowtham Menon's 'Vaaranam Aayiram'. His last release 'Singam' is busy breaking collection records all over. And, he has high hopes on Ram Gopal Varma's 'Raktha Charitra', through which he will make his Bollywood debut as well.

Oridathoru Postman’, directed by Shaji Azeez, is film full of humor set in the backdrop of a village. The film deals with the seemingly dtrane but intimate relationship between a father and his son, played by Innocent and Kunchako Boban respectively.
This is the first independent film by Shaji Azeez. He was one of the directors of Jayasurya starrer 'Shakespeare MA Malayalam'.
The members of the cast include Archana Kavi, Meera Nandan, Kalabhavan Mani, Suraj Venjaramoodu, Salim Kumar, Jaffer Idukki and Bijukuttan.
